Q During the course of your career, in dealing with both employees and your superiors, is there anything in your management style you would have changed?

A Good question! Probably my bosses could give you a better answer than I. However, as I look back at people who did not perform to an acceptable level in my organization, my biggest mistake was not making the decision to move them out more quickly. I cannot remember regretting having taken action too soon. I was told, more than once that I was “too defensive of my people.” Far more often the complainant was as a baker complaining about the farmer planting corn.
